A tomb is typically a large underground vault for burying the dead. A mausoleum is usually a large stately building housing a tomb or tombs above ground. A crypt is an underground room or vault beneath a church, used as a chapel or burial place. These structures like any other, require maintenance, repair, and stabilization. The size and type of repairs needed will dictate the equipment and materials required to make the structure whole. Often times, a state archeologist is required to inventory the contents and sometimes remove and store the contents until repairs are completed. Always consult the state prior to proceeding with repairs.
