Freeman Headstones
Gravestone preservation plays a vital role in maintaining the history and memory of our ancestors. In October 2022, renowned preservationist Rob Surabian took on the significant task of restoring the Freeman headstones, showcasing his dedication to this essential craft.
Restoring headstones, like those belonging to the Freeman family, goes beyond mere aesthetics. It is a way to honor the memories of those who came before us, ensuring that their legacies endure for future generations. With proper techniques, various types of weathered stones can be rejuvenated, revealing the intricate details that tell a story.
By restoring the Freeman headstones, Surabian not only brought them back to life but also raised awareness about the importance of gravestone preservation. His work establishes a standard for how we can care for our cultural heritage and ensure that the stories of individuals like the Freemans remain accessible.
